Team 470
Team 470 participates in FIRST Robotics Competition, representing Ypsilanti High School. We have a great shop and meeting room provided by the school, where we meet on Thursday evenings year round.
Young women and men of high school age can join the team in the summer and fall. After training in tool safety and doing a little fundraising through the fall, the team receives its Kit of Parts from FIRST and starts to design and build our next robot.
The FRC Build Season is 6 weeks long. Each team receives the rules of the game and a large kit full of parts. By the end of the 6 weeks we must have our robot ready for competition.
Team 470 competes in two District competitions in Michigan where we try our robot against those of other teams from all over Michigan. If we do well enough we move up to the State Championship Competition where we compete against the best teams Michigan has to offer.
